About
Durham Rose and Dragons Den
Durham Rose, back in its former incantation as Hot Pink, faced the notorious Dragons
In 2011, after proposing and marrying his wife Pip, Manu founded ‘Hot Pink’, a unique bespoke jewellery design company specialising in bringing client’s inspirations to life. After two years of hard work and rapid learning, in September 2013, Manu gained fame (or infamy depending on perspective) after appearing on the well-known British programme “Dragons Den”. The show allows for entrepreneurs to pitch their business ideas to a selection of prominent business owners willing to invest their own cash for a stake of their company.
We would personally like to thank the entire BBC production crew for all their help and support throughout our entire Dragons’ Den experience.
It was an unforgettable experience that we wanted to share with you, despite it being years later.
Watch The Pitch
Spoiler alert – we came extremely close to getting some of the Dragons’ cash but in the end were unsuccessful. However, the publicity that the show generated has truly transformed our business, so it all ended with a ‘happily ever after’.
Our Version of Events
We are all aware that televised programmes are edited in a way that sensationalises and manipulates reality to create an emotional response from its viewers. We felt it only fair after seeing the televised pitch that the formerly ‘Hot Pink’ team were able to represent ‘our’ version of events.
