I had a great experience with Durham Rose. By far the most interactive self-design studio on the market – you're given autonomy over every aspect of a ring, rather than mix-and-matching from preset selections as with competitors...
This weeks 'Ring of the Week' was brought to us by our client who had a very keen idea of the unique palladium engagement ring he wanted to create for his partner. The ring needed to be delicate and unassuming but richly adorned with some of their personal symbolism. In this client's case, it was the incorporation of a dragonfly. Underneath the bezel set, round cut, centre diamond, sits a dainty dragonfly that will sit on the finger as a secret to both the giver and the wearer. In addition to this symbolic feature, the shape of the dragonfly wings were incorporated into the design on the inner shank arms. These gracefully reach up and to brush against the ribbon of diamonds surrounding the centre stone. In addition to the symbolism embedded within this ring, was the desire for it to be very subtle. One of the best ways to achieve subtlety is to use smaller accent diamonds. This allows for the addition of texture as opposed to more sparkle, which is exactly what this client wanted. We used 1mm - 0.8mm accent diamonds within the ribbon to create this 'encrusted texture'. The ring was finely designed, with that unique symbolic personal touch that our client wanted.

I did unwrap and it’s brilliant. Came out far better than what I could have imagined, it’s stunning. Love the metal work and definitely made the right decision on the bigger Ruby. Thank you for helping me design this ring. Looking forward...
