Q: Are custom engagement rings more expensive?
A: That’s very much a relative question. Every engagement ring is different. And the cost will reflect both the materials and the work that goes into its creation. So, you can create custom engagement rings to suit a range of price points. As a rough guide, most of our engagement rings start at around £850. But you can get very simple bands for around £500. And you can spend upwards of £14,000, if you have the budget and inclination! That’s why we advise customers to come to their design consultations with a budget in mind. Then we can help you to create the best possible ring for your means.
Q: How are custom engagement rings made?
A: At Durham Rose, we like our customers to be truly involved in the design process. So, we don’t just ask for your preferences and come up with some ideas for you to choose from. We create your design with you. Using a shared screen – either in person or online – we work through your ideas during your consultation. Empowering you to add to or change your design as we go along. And making your ring truly personal.
After your consultation, we’ll refine your design and bring it to life with 3D modelling software and photo-realistic image creation. Once you’re totally happy with the design, we’ll get on with casting, polishing, and setting your bespoke engagement ring. Then we carefully box it up, provide you with a special photo book detailing your ring reaction journey, and the rest is down to you! Need a bit more detail? Q: How long do custom engagement rings take?
A: The time it takes to create a custom engagement ring varies, depending on the complexity of your design. But in most cases, it will usually be in the region of 2-6 weeks.
Q: Can I design my own engagement ring?
A: Absolutely. If you have a fully-fledged design ready to go, we can create it for you. Our only caveat is that it has to obey the laws of physics! If you know exactly what you want, bring your design to your consultation. Our designer will go over it with you to make sure that the structure is viable, and that we fully understand what you’re looking for. Then we’ll go ahead with the 3D modelling and photo-realistic renders, and continue with the ring creation process as usual.
Q: Who makes custom engagement rings?
A: At Durham Rose, we work with a select team of highly-trained jewellery designers and master craftsmen. They will manage every step of your ring’s creation, hand-finishing every piece to the highest standard.
Q: Can you make custom engagement rings with your own diamonds?
A: Yes. In fact, if you have your own diamonds, it can be a great way to reduce the cost of your custom engagement ring. We can also help you to repurpose unwanted or aged jewellery and other gemstones. This not only helps you to save money, but can also be a lovely way to add extra sentiment to your engagement ring.
