When designing, inspiration needs to be gathered from somewhere so what better place to look than to the celebrities and the catwalk. Here at Hot Pink we have been asked for quite a few famous designs which with a little tweaking to suit that individual can create something magnificent.

Cheryl Cole
2nd time lucky Miss Cole married her French boyfriend of three months Jean-Bernard Fernandez-Versiniearly this year. Cheryl shared an image on Instagram of her huge sparkler along with a very elegant wedding band which are estimates to be worth an impressive £300,000 in total. The platinum engagement ring looks to be made from at least a 3ct emerald cut diamond with two trapezoid diamonds at either side. This is complimented by a plain platinum band on the engagement ring and set of perfectly by the channel set diamond wedding band.
Amber Heard
Amber Heard got engaged to Jonny Depp in January this year. The engagement has never been officially confirmed but if you take a look at the sparkler below we are pretty sure this isn’t any old ring to just throw on! This beautiful Oval cut diamond ring features a diamond set split shank with pierced out detail on either side leading up to the centre diamond. The centre diamond is set high on the finger which also hosts a diamond encrusted halo. We have recently produced a ring very similar for a client who was looking at designing a proposal ring for his partner.
Mila Kunis
Mila Kunis is of course engaged to Ashston Kutcher. The first time her engagement ring was spotted was whilst the pair were blissfully watching a basketball game. Mila and Ashton have gone for a very simple classic ring consisting of a modern round brilliant cut diamond in a six claw mount. This particular setting is what we would describe as a crown due to shape and curvature of the claws as they go down to the bottom gallery and curve back up to hold in the diamond. The band also appears to be a knife edge shank therefore the top profile is very narrow. This is a great look if wanting to achieve a weighty band without having a wide band. It is also a way of tapering toward the centre stone.
Amal Alamuddin
Not that dissimilar to Cheryl Cole’s ring George Clooney is reported to have designed this ring for Amal Alamuddin himself. This stunning platinum engagement composed of three step cut diamonds is said to be worth approx. £450,000. Featuring a rather large emerald cut diamond centre with a double claw Harry Winston claw setting, this is complimented by 2 beautiful tapered baguette cut diamonds set across the finger.
The Duchess of Cambridge
We have all seen this amazing sapphire and diamond cluster before on Princess Diana. What a piece to inherit and imagine being fit to wear the ring of a Princess! This engagement ring consists of 14 round diamonds surrounding a 12ct oval blue sapphire set in 18ct white gold. This is probably the most famous ring in the world and also one many people draw inspiration from. Although we haven’t been asked for a replica of the piece we have noticed the increased popularity in sapphires since the royal engagement. Apparently a very romantic proposal, Prince Williams proposed to Kate whilst they were on safari back in 2010.
Blake Lively
Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds were married in 2012 at a private ceremony after their on screen love affair. This is one of our most sort after rings which also explains the increased curiosity of rose gold. This huge oval diamond sits on a pave set diamond encrusted rose gold band and is set in a four claw mount. The centre diamond is estimated to be approx 3ct which most people are unaware of when they are using it as their source of inspiration!
Obviously the list is endless! There’s some real show stoppers out there and it all comes down to personal preference, but Hot Pink are here to guide you through your thoughts and assist you with your perfect design.
